Former CIA Director John Brennan, a central figure in the government’s controversial actions against former President Donald Trump, is now turning his ire toward Trump’s supporters. Speaking on MSNBC’s *Ana Cabrera Reports*, Brennan described it as “absurd and appalling” that many Americans still support the Republican presidential nominee, despite ongoing accusations and criticisms of Trump’s leadership and values.
Brennan’s criticism of Trump is not new. He has been implicated in several scandals surrounding Trump, including allegations that he orchestrated international surveillance of Trump’s campaign and played a role in the disinformation campaign related to Hunter Biden’s laptop. Brennan is also a key figure in promoting the now-debunked narrative connecting Trump to Russia during his presidency.
Brennan warned voters about Trump’s alleged endorsement of dangerous ideologies. “We have seen this continuous pattern of Donald Trump endorsing individuals such as a Hitler, disparaging the U.S. military, advocating for fascism,” Brennan said, referencing recent statements by Trump’s former aides, including John Kelly and Mark Milley, who labeled Trump as “fascist to the core.”
Brennan urged undecided voters to reconsider their support, citing concerns raised by former Trump administration officials. "Is this the country that you want your children or grandchildren to grow up in? I certainly hope not," he stated.
The former CIA director’s comments come as tensions rise in the final weeks of the 2024 presidential race, with Trump’s influence over a significant portion of the electorate continuing to spark intense debate.
