Army Recruitment Thrived Under Trump, Schlapp Says
Appearing on Newsmax, American Conservative Union Chairman Matt Schlapp highlighted how military enlistment soared under President Donald Trump’s leadership. Schlapp emphasized that, unlike the Biden administration, the Trump White House prioritized respect for the military and national pride, which led to record-breaking recruitment numbers during his tenure.
“Under President Trump, young Americans were proud to wear the uniform,” Schlapp said. “They knew they were fighting for a commander-in-chief who had their back and wasn’t pushing woke nonsense into the ranks.”
His comments come as the U.S. military continues to struggle with recruitment shortfalls under the Biden administration, a trend many conservatives attribute to politicization and left-wing social engineering in the armed forces.
Karoline Leavitt’s Defense of the Department of Government Efficiency
Schlapp also addressed recent criticism of the newly launched Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), a Trump-aligned initiative aimed at streamlining federal bureaucracy. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt called the backlash “alarming,” suggesting that opponents are more interested in protecting bloated government systems than serving the American people.
“Karoline is absolutely right,” Schlapp said. “If you’re criticizing a department focused on cutting waste, reducing red tape, and holding bureaucrats accountable, then you’re part of the problem.”
The DOGE initiative has been touted by Trump allies as a key step in returning power to the people and reining in unelected officials who have become entrenched in Washington, D.C.
Schlapp: The Fight for Government Accountability Has Just Begun
Matt Schlapp concluded his appearance by warning that the criticism of DOGE is just the beginning of what will be a sustained campaign by the Left to undermine meaningful reform.
“They don’t want efficiency. They want control,” Schlapp said. “But with leaders like Karoline Leavitt and President Trump at the helm, the American people are getting ready to take that control back.”
