A violent Venezuelan gang member, released into the U.S. under Biden's immigration policies, led a brutal robbery in Texas, highlighting the growing threat of Tren de Aragua's presence across the country.

The brutal robbery of a woman in upscale Northwest Dallas has shed light on the increasing presence of Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang members in the U.S., a direct consequence of lax immigration policies. The ringleader of the attack, Wilmer Colmenares-Gonzalez, a 27-year-old illegal alien from Venezuela, reportedly accosted the victim outside her home on September 21. Along with three accomplices, he forced her inside, tied her up, and threatened to cut off her fingers unless she revealed where her cash and jewelry were stored. The group made off with $75,000 worth of valuables.
Colmenares-Gonzalez, later arrested after a standoff with Dallas police, claimed to be acting on orders from the Tren de Aragua, a violent gang that has infiltrated U.S. communities following President Joe Biden’s immigration policies. Colmenares-Gonzalez, who entered the U.S. illegally last year with his wife and a child not related to them, was inexplicably released into the country by immigration officials, given a court date in Chicago that allowed him to remain free. This leniency proved costly, as Colmenares-Gonzalez and his crew unleashed violence in Texas.
Three other Venezuelan nationals were also arrested in connection with the robbery: Yean Brayhan Torralba, 20, Alberto Martinez Silva, 34, and Manuel Hernandez-Hernandez, 28. Some of these individuals have criminal records in the U.S., highlighting a disturbing trend of gang-related crimes by illegal aliens.
The Tren de Aragua gang, notorious for its violent operations in South America, has spread its influence into the U.S. The gang is responsible for a string of crimes, including the horrific rape and murder of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray in Houston earlier this year. The spread of gang violence is not isolated to Texas—TdA members have been arrested in Colorado, Chicago, New York, and Wisconsin, leaving a trail of crime across multiple states.
The surge in violence tied to this gang calls into question the administration’s immigration policies, as dangerous criminals have been able to enter and operate within U.S. borders with relative ease. As communities from Texas to Wisconsin grapple with the consequences, the need for stricter immigration enforcement grows more urgent by the day.
