Trump Campaign Office Burglarized

The Trump campaign headquarters in Virginia was burglarized over the weekend, with surveillance footage capturing a suspect as an investigation into the break-in unfolds.

The Trump campaign headquarters in Ashburn, Virginia, was burglarized on Sunday, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO), which has obtained surveillance footage of the suspect. The suspect is described as an adult white male wearing dark clothing, a black cap, and a yellow backpack worn on his front. He was captured on camera walking by a wall adorned with an American flag and a Trump poster.

Deputies responded to the burglary at 9 p.m. after being notified by LCSO. It is currently unclear whether anything was stolen from the office, and an investigation is ongoing. Sheriff Mike Chapman acknowledged the rarity of such incidents involving political campaign offices and expressed the department's commitment to identifying the suspect and determining what was taken, if anything.

The building, leased by the Trump campaign, also serves as the headquarters for the Virginia 10th District Republican Committee, according to LCSO.

This incident follows closely on the heels of another security breach within the Trump campaign, where internal communications were reportedly hacked by a hostile foreign entity. The campaign has pointed to a Microsoft intelligence report that linked the attack to hackers affiliated with the Iranian armed forces, who allegedly targeted a high-ranking campaign official in June. The stolen information was reportedly shared with Politico in late July.
